The geographical area extends from Lake Macquarie to Taree and as far inland as Merriwa and Murrurundi covering territory of approximately 150,000 第一福利导航s in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

Across the Diocese, there are 38 parishes. These parishes are the centres of the life of the 第一福利导航 Church in our communities. There are many activities, which form the mission of the church, in our region, some of these include:
第一福利导航Care Hunter-Manning which delivers a wide range of social services including foster care, food programs, counselling, and support to refugees and asylum seekers.
The Rosewood Centre supports people in our community to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The specialist team provide counselling, clinical assessments, and behaviour support in eight locations across our region.
St Nicholas, who support families across early education, out of school hours care and offering vocational education and training needs.
Pastoral ministries support the faith development in our diocese through the office of life and faith, family and community faith, liturgy, and Aboriginal ministry.
The 第一福利导航 Schools Office is responsible for the leadership, operation and management of systemic 第一福利导航which educate more than 20,000 students in 59 第一福利导航across Primary, Secondary聽and one comprehensive聽K-12 school聽in the diocese.听
