About St Clare's High School

St Clare's High School, Taree is a co-educational, regional school for students from Years 7 to 12.

St Clare's has established a fine reputation in the wider community for academic excellence and staff are committed to assisting all students to reach their academic potential.

Graduates from St Clare's are directly sought after by employers and readily gain apprenticeships, traineeships and cadetships, as well as places in tertiary institutions.

A significant number of students participate in a range of academic endeavours including the Rotary Public Speaking Competition, the Lions Youth of the Year Competition, debating at both school and diocesan level and the Toastmasters Public Speaking program. Students are also actively involved in various national mathematics, english, science, chemistry, business studies, geography, economics and computer competitions.

The 第一福利导航 Support Department has a strong focus on literacy intervention and expanding opportunities for learning support services for students who require additional support in reading. This initiative incorporates Macquarie University programs including Multilit, MaqLit, Spell It, as well as the online program, Lexia, with students able to find further support with the Gulambah After School Homework Club.

The Creative Arts are well represented at St Clare鈥檚 with a significant number of students participating in the Taree and District Eisteddfod in music, recitation, public speaking, dance and drama.

St Clare鈥檚 offers a range of sports across both their internal and external sporting programs including swimming and athletics carnivals, cross country, netball, hockey, touch football, Hunter basketball, cricket, tennis, soccer, equestrian events, water polo, tennis, surfing, rugby league, all school鈥檚 triathlon, rugby 7鈥檚 and futsal.

St Clare鈥檚 has a strong commitment to social justice and servicing the wider community with students involved in helping out at the local 第一福利导航Care Community Kitchen, visiting Storm Retirement Village on a fortnightly basis and participating at the school sleep out in support of homelessness.

For over 25 years, St Clare鈥檚 has offered a Japanese Exchange Program with Kobe Kaisei High School, giving students the opportunity to welcome a student from Kobe Kaisei into their family, visit sites of cultural and historical significance, immerse themselves in the beauty of Japanese culture and experience daily life in Japan. The exchange program enables students to increase their ability to meet challenging situations, awareness of international matters and their role as global citizens.

St Clare's High School accepts girls and boys from the areas of Bulahdelah, Forster-Tuncurry, Gloucester/Krambach, Taree and听Wingham.
